Day 01:24/06/2017:Arusha/Lake Manyara National Park(130km –2hours)
Breakfast at 0700am. Pick up from ArushaCrown Hotel at 0800am and drive on tarmac road 130km with lunch box to Lake Manyara National Park (330 sq km or 127 sq mile’s) on the base of the Great Rift Valley, for the Afternoon game drives. LakeManyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks.
The park is home to Lion, Hippo, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Blue and Vervet monkey, Warthog and more…About 350 species of birds have been recorded. This small park contains also five distinct vegetation zones. Thus supporting a large variety of birds and animals. The Manyara National park is also famous for its large flocks of flamingos. In this park canoeing has recently been added to the tourist activities in this park at extra cost. This is a great way to see the park from a new perspective. Day 04:26/06/2017:Full Day Serengeti National Park
You will have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year; we can spend time at the Hippo pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles, watch a big pride of lions, be in the middle of the migration, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest, sometimes by zebras, which travel with the wildebeest. We journey from the wide open plains to the kopjes: these volcanic rocky outcrops provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals and from the top we can look out across the vast grasslands of the Serengeti. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide us with the ultimate in game viewing, we will hopefully see all of the plain games; elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions and it you are lucky the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of interesting bird life, from the elegant secretary birds to the flightless ostrich. Day 05:27/06/2017:Serengeti National Park/Ngorongoro Crater Rim(145km – 3 hours)
Wake up at 0600hours for early morning game drives in Serengeti National Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. At around 0900 hours drive back to the camp for breakfast. Then check out and drive with lunch and game viewing en route to Ngorongoro Crater Rim.OPTION:Visit the Olduvai Gorge at extra fee for the museum.Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Simba “A” Campsite. Day 06:28/06/2017:Ngorongoro Crater Floor/Arusha(190km – 3 hours)
In the early morning we will depart for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. With an estimated 25,000 mammals, you are sure to be overwhelmed at the abundance of wildlife that exist within the crater at any one time. Lake Magadi is a saline lake found on the Crater floor. The saline waters of this lake attract both lesser and greater flamingo, with flocks of several thousand forming when the lake is low. Other bird species that inhabit the Crater floor are ostrich and the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird. It may also be possible to spot cheetah, who are nomadic and move in and out of the Crater. Leopard are highly elusive creatures, however they are most likely encountered in the Lerai Forest. After enjoying lunch we will head back to Arusha where your safari concludes. You may wish to add one of our optional activities as your next destination. Maybe a gorilla trek or you may just like to spend a couple of days relaxing on the white sandy beaches of Zanzibar.After lunch proceed with fame viewing while ascending the Crater and drive for thedrop off at Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home.
