06 Dec 1965, Near Michelin Plantation, South Vietnam --- December 6, 1965 - Michelin Plantation, South Vietnam: Survivors of a Viet Cong ambush cover the dead and care for the wounded laid out along a narrow jungle road where troops of the U.S. First Infantry Division were attacked by an estimated regiment of guerillas. U.S. forces suffered moderate casualties in the action, which took place some six miles northeast of the Michelin plantation.
