Meet on arrival at Yangon International Airport with FD 2751 @ 08:00 Hours.
Alaungapaya, the founder of the last line of Burmese kings, made Yangon his capital in 1753 and so it remained until 2005 when the capital was moved to Napyidaw. A green city of tropical trees, shady parks and beautiful lakes, leafy sidewalks, pavement tea-shops and magnificent colonial buildings, it offers an intriguing mix of Burmese culture with Chinese and Indian quarters.
Begin a sightseeing tour of this picturesque garden city that includes the old colonial-style city centre and gilded Sule Pagoda, dating back over 2,000 years followed by Bogyoke Market (Scott’s Market) (closed on Public Holidays and Mondays) and a photo stop at the Karaweik Hall royal floating barge. The highlight of every visitor, Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world's most spectacular religious monuments is saved until late afternoon when the light is at its most magical. The golden dome of the Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base, is covered with 60 tons of pure gold and is the very heart and soul of Buddhist Myanmar. Make sure to spend time here watching the Burmese come to pray and make offerings; it is an unforgettable experience. In the late afternoon around 18:00 Hours transfer to the Aung Mingalar Bus Station for your overland travel to Bagan by night buses (approx: 20:00 hours depart Yangon). Overnight on the express bus.

Around 06:00 AM, Pick up from Bagan Bus Station and transfer to your hotel. Today’s sightseeing tour, will make the visits to a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century. See 13th Century frescoes adorning the corridors of Kyansittha 'Cave' Temple. Continue to Gubyaukgyi (Wetkyi In village), another 'cave' temple with fine frescoes of the 'Jataka Tales'. Next stop is Htilominlo, the last Bamar style temple built in Bagan, with old murals and friezes. Visit the Taungphi village to see old monasteries, which have beautiful Khone Baung dynasty frescoes.
In the afternoon, continue visit to Ananda Temple, a whitewashed masterpiece of Mon architecture with four standing Buddhas, and the adjacent brick monastery from the early Bagan era with well-preserved murals. Make a photo stop at the tallest temple measuring 61 meters - Thatbyinnyu known as 'temple of omniscience' and dating from 1144. Continue to Mingalazedi, the last of the large Pagodas built in the 13th Century, representing the pinnacle of Bamar pagoda architecture. Enjoy sunset at one of the monuments along Ayeyarwady River. Transfer to Nyaung U Airport for domestic flight to Heho (approx:0745-0900 / via MDL). Transfer from Heho airport down into the valley to Nyaungshwe on the edge of Inle Lake and board your own local boat to take you to your hotel.
In the afternoon, take a long-tailed boat across the lake to Indaing at the western end of Inle for one of the most scenic trips on the Lake. Passing through the busy village of Yawama, the largest on the Lake with its many channels and tall teak houses on stilts, enter a long often tree lined canal towards Indaing Jetty with farmers cultivating their land on either side under the backdrop of the Shan Hills. After disembarking it is a 15 minute walk through Indaing village to reach the 14-18th century pagoda ruins of Nyaung Ohak; many pagodas here remain charmingly unrenovated with plants and even small trees growing out of them making it very atmospheric. A covered walkway, popular with souvenir stalls leads up to Shwe Inn Thein Paya, a complex of weather beaten zedi; some sadly reconstructed although the views from the top make it worth the ascent. Returning to the river jetty we take our long-tailed boat back along the canal to the Lake. Accommodation at Hotel, at Inle Lake.

Enjoy a half day boat trip on Inle Lake a photographer’s dream. Its calm waters are dotted with floating vegetation and fishing canoes, to which scenic hills provide the perfect backdrop. See the lake’s unique "leg rowers". The Intha people row standing up with one leg wrapped around an oar. Visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State. See traditional handicrafts like silk weaving on wooden handlooms and a blacksmith shop. Pass endless floating gardens, where fruit and vegetables are grown.
In the afternoon, transfer by boat to Nyaung Shwe and then proceed to Heho Airport (25 km - 1 hour). Domestic flight to Mandalay (approx: 1600-1635 / direct) and transfer to hotel. Accommodation at hotel in Mandalay.

MANDALAY – AMARAPURA – SAGAING (B/-/-)

Although Mandalay has a few highlights such as Kuthodaw Pagoda and Mandalay Hill, it is the ancient capitals, battered stupas and sights outside of the city which are the main attraction. Today in Mandalay, drive to Amarapura, the penultimate Royal Capital and lying 11 km south of Mandalay. Here we visit Mahagandayon, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study and the 150-year-old U Bein teak bridge, built in 1851 at the time when Amarapura was the royal capital by staking 1060 teak posts over the wide Taungthaman Lake to connect two villages. One of the most photographed spots in Myanmar and well worth spending time walking across the bridge. Afterwards visit Bagaya Monastery, with a superb collection of Buddha statues.
In the afternoon, continue to picturesque Sagaing Hill, where hillsides are dotted with numerous pagodas and monasteries. This is perhaps the living centre of Buddhist faith in Myanmar today. Enjoy a magnificent view over the surrounding area and a scenic sunset. Return to Mandalay driving along the Ayeyarwady River. Accommodation at Hotel, in Mandalay.
