Two years after India offered it $500 million credit line for defence, Vietnam says it has identified the areas where it would like to use the money. On Monday, Vietnam ambassador to India Mr Pham Sanh Chau said that the two countries have made substantial progress in public safety and defence cooperation and Vietnam has identified the areas where the credit line will be used. He indicated that joint defence production was one of the areas where the money will be used.

“We are now increasing cooperation in public security and defence. We have been able to identify the area we would like to use the $500b credit line in defence. We are also looking at joint production with India,” said the ambassador.

Vietnamese deputy minister of public safety senior lieutenant-general Bui Van Nam was in New Delhi on Monday for talks with his counterpart and it is learnt that defence purchases and joint manufacturing were among the issues that were discussed

A South Korean cybersecurity firm claims that the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP) in southern India’s Tamil Nadu state was attacked by North Korean “DTrack” malware in an attempt to obtain internal information about “thorium-based nuclear power”.

Located off the Bay of Bengal in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu state, the power plant is the single largest nuclear power station in India.

We have confirmed that one of the hackers who attacked India's nuclear energy sector is using a North Korean self-branded computer produced and used only in the North Korea. And the IP used by one of the hackers was from Pyongyang, North Korea. This is more valuable than malware.

The North Korean hackers sent hacking emails to the former chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India(AECI) and the Secretary to the Government of India and the Director of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre(BARC).

Also, the DPRK hackers sent email containing malware to the chairman(not now *ex-*) of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board(AERB) of India. And he was the Technical Director of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited(NPCIL). He's an expert on the AHWR reactor (thorium-based).
